With Every Heartbeat (Forbidden Men, #4)
With Every Heartbeat by Linda Kage

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Summary from GoodReads

*New Adult Romance*
**Explicit Scenes and Language**

I used to think everything was black and white, truth or lie, easy or hard, that if I could just escape my strict, overbearing, abusive father, my life would be perfect. But since I’ve found a reason to risk his wrath and leave, to help a friend in need, I’ve come to realize everything I thought I knew is wrong.

Friends have their own agenda, honesty comes with a dosage of lie, easy doesn’t even exist, keeping secrets sucks, and love...love is the most painful thing of all.

Maybe if Quinn Hamilton hadn’t asked me to skip classes for the day and help him pick out an engagement ring for my best friend, I wouldn’t have fallen for him so completely on that sunny Tuesday afternoon and I wouldn’t feel so conflicted. But I did, and I can’t take it back, no matter how hard I try. So I have to deal with the fact that even I’m not as good, or honest, or caring as I’d always thought I was, and no matter what I do next, someone’s going to get hurt. Probably me.

*Don't worry! The hero and heroine are not cheaters.*

REVIEW

Recieved and eARC in echange for an honest review!

When I first began reading Linda Kage's series I didn't expect it to envolve into a contemporary series with teachings about life and relationships. On the fourth novel we get to meet old and new characters as Zoey escapes her abusive father in order to move into college and help her friend. There she meets Quinn Hamilton and a series of funny and heart-breaking moments begin.

Zoey is your shy girl with no experience in life who also becomes one of my favorite heroines; the one who will stand for herself and protect everyone around her. Quinn is also one of the same type, which was adorable for a male character.

A fact about the heroes was their courage to overcome their pasts and not get dragged by them. This is also an amazing triat for life and a teaching for those around us.

I really enjoyed Ten's and Croline's moments; I want to see what will happen with them! :) You will not regret reading the book. For me it has the best elements on contemporary!

Don't miss the first books of the series, it would be better to read them first (click the covers for more details)

and the upcoming novel (preorder here!)
