REVIEW

I had heard many amazing things about this series and after the release of "Sweet Temptation" I decided to give the series a try.

Needless to say, I finished all four books in one week! And suffered from a small book addicition withdrawal.

So, Anna is a sweet Southern girl who lives with her adoptive mother and her life is quite normal, except from her ability to see peoples' auras as bright or dark colors around them. Her ability is actually pretty cool until the moment she meets Kaidan Rowe drummer of a popular band and son of...a demon lord.

The first book mostly takes place in the move as Anna and Kaidan try to learn more about her origins and why she is different than the other children of Demons. There was great deal of backstory here and quite the hype in the emotions. My only comment would be that Kaidan and Anna fell too quickly in love but I'll not give you details as a loyal no-spoiler reviewer! ;)

In the second book Anna will find her purpose and she will become stronger and braver. Only Kaidan proves to be a little stupid in his actions but the rest of the cast of the other characters fills amazingly the story with their backstories and funny moments.

And finally in the third book we have the battle of good and evil, with a slight touch of some very, very happy moments and some very sad ones. What I loved most in the series was Anna. She is a sweet, kind girl but that not makes her stupid or so doe eyed she can't move around. She has wits, bravery and a strong sense of justice which I adore in a YA heroine!

"Sweet Temptation" is a companion novel written from Kaidan's POV and includes all the first trhee books. Some of his actions are explained and his time away from Anna is also told. I liked that as an extra and if you want to have some more of this series then it is recommended.

And don't miss the chance to pre order her new book "The Great Hunt" (just click the cover!)! This will be yet another amazing story which will make us carve for more!

Summary from GoodReads

Kill the beast. Win the girl.

A strange beast stirs fear in the kingdom of Lochlanach, terrorizing towns with its brutality and hunger. In an act of desperation, a proclamation is sent to all of Eurona—kill the creature and win the ultimate prize: the daughter of King Lochson’s hand in marriage.

Princess Aerity understands her duty to the kingdom though it pains her to imagine marrying a stranger. It would be foolish to set her sights on any particular man in the great hunt, but when a brooding local hunter, Paxton Seabolt, catches her attention, there’s no denying the unspoken lure between them…or his mysterious resentment.

Paxton is not keen on marriage. Nor does he care much for spoiled royals and their arcane laws. He’s determined to keep his focus on the task at hand—ridding the kingdom of the beast and protecting his family—yet Princess Aerity continues to challenge his notions with her unpredictability and charm. But as past secrets collide with present desires, dire choices threaten everything Paxton holds dear.

Inspired by the Grimm Brothers’ tale, “The Singing Bone,” New York Times bestselling author Wendy Higgins delivers a dark fantasy filled with rugged hunters, romantic tension, outlawed magic, and a princess willing to risk all to save her people.
