Summary from GoodReads

The USA TODAY bestselling author of the Ten Tiny Breaths and Burying Water series makes her suspense debut with this sexy, heartpounding story of a young woman determined to find justice after her best friend’s death, a story pulsing with the “intense, hot, emotional” (Colleen Hoover) writing that exhilarates her legions of fans.

Twenty-eight-year-old Maggie Sparkes arrives in New York City to pack up what’s left of her best friend’s belongings after a suicide that has left everyone stunned. The police have deemed the evidence conclusive: Celine got into bed, downed a bottle of Xanax and a handle of vodka, and never woke up. But when Maggie discovers secrets in the childhood lock box hidden in Celine’s apartment, she begins asking questions. Questions about the man Celine fell in love with. The man she never told anyone about, not even Maggie. The man who Celine herself claimed would be her ruin.

On the hunt for answers that will force the police to reopen the case, Maggie uncovers more than she bargained for about Celine’s private life—and inadvertently puts herself on the radar of a killer who will stop at nothing to keep his crimes undiscovered.

REVIEW

I received and ARC rom Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

When K. A. Tucker announced that she was going to write a thriller I was anxious and giddy about it. I have read all of her books and I love both her writting style and how she always dive into her characters' inner world. "He will be my Ruin" was a rollercoaster of mystery, sexy moments and plot twists that made me gape at the book, thinking "OMYGODWTF?"

*ahem*

Let's take it from the beginning. Maggie is a gazillion rich CEO who also spends her fortune in charity and work in Africa. But when she learns of the death of her childhood friend, Celine, she rushes to New York in order to settle her funeral. When she begins discovering diaries and secrets locked in many places, Maggie will have to rethink her feelings about her best friend. Who is "J"? And why the sexy super in the buiding is so damn cute?

I was heads on into the plot, which from a point had chinese art mixed in. That made my inner historian purr in delight as also worry about what would happen in the end. There isn't much action, only speculation about what will happen and I assure you, this is not a book you want to miss. I liked Maggie; she is strong, fierce and her parents' money do not corrupt her. Instead, she wants to save the world in many ways.

Mostly, the mystery keeps you in endge wondering what will happen and sincerely this was one of the few times, I really enjoyed a book of the mystery/thriller genre. I recommend it both to Tucker's fans and the ones who seek a good book. ;)
